  • The mathematical operation that maps any two elements a and b of a given algebraic structure (such as a module or vector space) to the coset a ⊗ b + I, where a ⊗ b is the tensor product of the two vectors and I is the two-sided ideal generated by all elements of the form x ⊗ x.

    The exterior product of a and b is denoted a ∧ b and has the property that a ∧ b = −(b ∧ a).
