  • A painting of the Madonna by Raphael, commissioned by Pope Julius II (1503–13) for the church of San Sisto in Piacenza and now held in Dresden.

    The painting was commissioned in honour of Pope Sixtus IV, but the Church is dedicated to one of his predecessors, perhaps Sixtus II (Sixtus I, II, and III were all beatified).
