  • (born 1950), Welsh Anglican churchman and theologian, Archbishop of Canterbury 2002–12; full name Rowan Douglas Williams. He became Professor of Divinity at Oxford in 1986 and in 1999 was elected Archbishop of Wales. His many books include Writing in the Dust: Reflections on 11th September and Its Aftermath (2002) and Anglican Identities (2004).
