Family name of Italian sculptors Andrea (c.1290–c.1348) and his son Nino (died c.1368). Andrea created the earliest pair of bronze doors for the baptistery at Florence (completed 1336). Nino was one of the earliest to specialize in freestanding life-size figures.
Family name of Italian sculptors Nicola (c.1220–c.1278), and his son Giovanni (c.1250–c.1314). Nicola's most famous works are the pulpits in the baptistery at Pisa and in Siena cathedral. Giovanni's works include the richly decorated facade of Siena cathedral.
