verb
rareRelume.
Origin
Mid 17th century; earliest use found in Shakespeare's Othello. Either from post-classical Latin reluminare to restore sight to (late 2nd century in Tertullian) from classical Latin re- + lūmināre, or from re- + either lumine or -lumine, probably originally as an alteration of relume in editions of Othello.
