"Cereal" Or "Serial"?
Cereal is primarily used to refer to "grains such as wheat or rye, or to breakfast food made from roasted grains," as in:
I had a bowl of cereal with milk for breakfast.
Whereas serial is most often used as an adjective meaning "taking place in a series or sequence," or "a person repeatedly following a behaviour pattern," for example, a serial publication or a serial killer.
Serial can also be used as a noun to mean "a story told in regular installments," for example in a magazine or on radio, television, or podcast, as in:
The crime serial was watched by people around the world.
